Jade Warrior - Distant Echoes download free

Nice album post Tony Duhig. At times some of the music on this early 90s ver of JW would be considered ambient but alas I am a fan of ambient music so I took the listening in stride. There is some nice dynamics to be relished on this release but since most or a majority of the percussion is of the electronic nature you do not get that 70s era dynamic intensity that really made the early JW release special.Theres plenty of interplay famoungst the three main musicians mainly flute, guitar and fret-less bass and the focus on incorporating space into the music passage is an adage from the original Jade Warrior mindset something I took notice to fondly. The closing track is sort of neo-tribal ambient sort of majestic and uplifting and at times reminded me of 90s era Steve Roach you know the whole desert ambient shamanic sound shakers, congas etc. While many traditionalist might say nay to this album I feel after many a listen it is a valid release in the ongoing efforts the remaining member of Jade Warrior. I am sure Tony would have been pleased.....
